Admin Speech

Salutations and a very warm welcome to Lindalva Inclusive School Benin City The School is both for children with and without disability.

We nurture the growth of the whole child- academically, socially, emotionally, morally and physically and we celebrate our children’s achievement in a safe, caring and creative environment.

As a School Community, we work together to bring learning ‘alive’ and extend pupils’ experiences so that they are well prepared for the next steps in their learning.

We do this by providing a broad and balanced education for all the children within a happy, stimulating and healthy environment and we want each child to achieve the best he or she can through exciting and engaging classroom activities.

We have excellent teachers, Special educators, teaching assistants, office staff and domestic staff; these all work as a very close team and play an essential role in the development and success of our children. Parents work with us in partnership.

Our school has a strong tradition of celebrating achievement and encouraging children’s self-esteem. Our daily Assemblies are used to formally celebrate our children’s efforts and achievement.

Through our pastoral systems we promote the development of excellent relationships between pupils and the whole staff team.

We also have a reward system in school, which promotes positive behaviour.

Children have a strong sense of belonging to the School community, this is seen by the way they interact and care for one another in an atmosphere of friendliness and respect for one another.

We offer our pupils the best possible opportunities to become confident, sociable, respectful and thoughtful.

We are very proud of our caring, inclusive ethos where we set high standards and expectations for our pupils to achieve and behave their very best.

Our superb facilities and dedicated staff enable us to deliver our programmes in an environment that is intimate, friendly and attuned to every specific educational need of our pupils irrespective of their ability.

We keep our classes relatively small to create an atmosphere where you can feel relaxed, accepted, included, and comfortable, which allows learners to really get to know their teachers and peers. The School is a home for all our pupils; every child is cared for and included. We work in a very close partnership with parents so that every child is fully supported.

We know the importance that parents play in their child’s education and so welcome your involvement in your child’s education and in the life of our school. We ask your opinion on a regular basis through our “Home-School Link”.

We aim for all pupils to be happy and supported in a safe and protective environment by developing an aspirational and flagship Inclusive school community that engages with all parents and relevant stakeholders

Through the National curriculum and individualized teaching, our academic standards at Lindalva Inclusive School continue to improve term on term and year on year. Lindalva Inclusive School is carefully designed to be accessible for all pupils, irrespective of their ability. We thereby ensure success for all by providing pupils with the necessary skills to flourish in an ever-changing world.

I look forward to welcoming you to ensure the best standard of education and personal development for your child.
